Who was your childhood hero?

My childhood hero was Shirley Temple. I found her mesmerizing to watch—like a doll come to life. She could dance, sing, and act—everything I thought I wanted to do at the time.

If you had to wear one outfit from head to toe every day for a year, what would it be?

I would wear head-to-toe Nicholson & Nicholson (button down and easy trouser)—not just as a shameless plug because I represent them, but because it truly feels like me. I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy—once even told I dressed like a “dandy”— so I feel completely at ease in their clothing... paired with a simple ballet flat.

It's talent night, what will you be bringing?

The music—because, to quote Dazed and Confused, “I wanna dance.”  The movie not the song.

What cross roads are you at?

I’m thinking through whether it’s the right time to expand my business—why change a good thing, or am I simply being a scaredy cat?

If you could create a job that doesn’t already exist what would it be?

This doesn’t exactly answer the question, but kind of… I’ve always wanted to create an app that connects designers with people who want to help with sales, trade shows, and client outreach—essentially a Tinder for designers and sales support. I worked a furniture trade show where there were so many incredibly talented makers who couldn’t sell their own work, and they kept asking how to find sales help. It made me realize how useful it would be to match people who want to get into sales with makers who need support.

If your pet could talk, what do you think they might say about you?

She. Is. My. Everything.

(I am not exaggerating.) He is a Brussels Griffon, the true definition of a Velcro dog.

If given the opportunity, what book would you write?

I know it’s already been done, but a Brooklyn version of The Nanny Diaries. I was a nanny who worked closely with other nannies, many from Trinidad and Jamaica, and they really took me in. I loved every minute of being with them (not the job) and saw some wild things, from the kids to the parents. One moment that stands out is my nanny friend Peaches making me tell Björk how much she meant to me at a kids’ playground. It was terribly awkward. We were both mortified.

OR a short story about the summer I worked as a road construction flagger. I may have been an early nepo-baby. I got the job because my father worked for the New York State Thruway and the construction crew wanted an in. It was a LOT, but the money was great, and it paid for my first car.

Any tips for a good nights sleep

My go to is Magnesium and tea before bed.
